Hearing Concern

Hearing Concern was a national charity for Hard of Hearing people in the UK.

In 2005, they had a critical management restructure forcing the charity to either face closure or rebrand. The key concern was to reshape the previous brand image with an innovative, strong brand identity to attract new funding from both the corporate and public sectors.

The strategic emphasis was on a distinctive new brand and rolling out corporate literature, an annual report, corporate guidelines, stationary, posters and promotional goods, which would be fresh and innovative. The materials needed to be informative and accessible to young and elderly audiences alike and encourage younger people to get involved with the charity.

The challenge was to design and create a strong new corporate brand to reflect Hearing Concern’s principal aims, vision and mission and roll out the message across the organisation in London and nationally.

At every stage, we consulted Hearing Concern; they liked the way we presented and developed the new brand identity in a clear and illustrative manner.

We provided a cost effective, creative solution for the client delivered within a time frame of six weeks.

The finished products were eye catching and different. Corporate guidelines were created to ensure the brand identity was used consistently. They received positive feedback from their Patron of the time, John Suchet, as well as from their Chair of Trustees, client base, funders and stakeholders.

By April 2006, Hearing Concern’s staff had grown to 28 from 5 before the rebrand. Their turnover in 2005/06 had increased to £509,182 from £238,528 in the previous year.
